Boost your Immunity with On Guard Essential Oil Blend

On Guard is a powerful blend that has made such a difference in my health. I have not gone to the doctor for being sick since I started using the On Guard Blend! No joke! I will say that I also have a pretty healthy diet which is important, but I really noticed a difference after using On Guard. Before I would be sick for a longer period of time with more intense symptoms. Now when I get sick it will last for 3-5 days with mild symptoms! So I am feeling better throughout the year, often times skipping the bug that is going around AND saving money on doctor visits and medication. Win Win!
Of course like anyone, when I was first introduced to essential oils I was skeptical. But On Guard was my gateway oil. The On Guard softgels were one of the first things that I tried from doTERRA. It is so convenient that the On Guard Touch is pre diluted! Because if you want to apply On Guard topically, you have to mix it with a carrier oil so it does not irritate or burn your skin. On Guard contains Clove and Cinnamon oils which are “hot” essential oils. Hot oils can burn your skin if applied neat. This is why it’s important to use a carrier oil when applying On Guard topically.
There are so many different types of carrier oils:
- coconut oil
- fractionated coconut oil
- olive oil
- almond oil
- jojoba oil
- rosehip oil
- argon oil
- avocado oil
- neem oil
Typically I usually use whatever carrier oil I have on hand. However, there are specific benefits for each carrier oil. Some are more moisturizing, some absorb faster, some are ingestible etc. So depending on what you are making you may want to investigate a specific carrier oil.
Benefits of using carrier oils with essential oils:
1) Your oils will last longer because you can use less
2) You can reach a larger surface area of the body.
3) Carrier oils will increase the absorption rate of the essential oils, providing more health benefits.
My favorite way to use On Guard Touch is to roll it on the bottoms of my feet. The feet actually have the largest pores on the body and therefore will absorb the most essential oils than anywhere else on the body. This is a bedtime routine for me to keep my immune system strong.

- Surface Cleaner: The basic recipe is 2 Tbsp On Guard Cleaning Concentrate per 24 ounces of water
- Soap for Washing Dishes: 3 Tbsp OG cleaner per gallon of water
- Bathroom Cleaner: 3 Tbsp OG cleaner per 24 ounces of water
- Makeup Brush Cleaner: 1 tsp OG cleaner and 1.5 Tbsp fractionated coconut oil
- Floor Cleaner: 2 Tbsp OG cleaner and 1 gallon of water
- Dish Washing Tabs: 1 Tbsp cleaner, 1 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup citric acid
- Toy Cleaner: 1.5 Tbsp OG Cleaner and 16 ounces of water

The main ingredient in On Guard Hand Sani is ethyl alcohol, which is derived from natural sources, like corn. This is the same type of alcohol that you would find in the alcohol we drink, versus isopropyl alcohol. My favorite ingredient in this unique hand sani is apple extract. Apple extract moisturizes the skin, so it will not leave your hands feeling dry. Other ingredients include water, glycerin, Eucalyptus leaf oil, Orange peel oil, Clove bud oil, Cinnamon leaf oil, Rosemary leaf oil and citric acid. So this is an all natural hand sanitizer which I love!
On Guard toothpaste is either something you love or you hate. It has a different texture that we are not used to. But that is because it contains NATURAL INGREDIENTS, and does not have as much foaming as other commercial toothpastes do. I only use fluoride free toothpaste and this is the only one that I have tried and really liked!
A recent study, looked how fluoride effects the pineal gland. The pineal gland is responsible for the production of melatonin (the bodies natural sleep aid) and it ensures blood flow to the liver! Major functions of the body that need to be working properly!

Translation… high levels of fluoride could effect our sleeping patterns. This is exactly why I stay away from fluoride toothpastes!
doTERRA conducted their own study on the On Guard toothpaste. Results showned that the toothpaste significantly improved tooth color by 34% and reduced plaque formation by 63% after just three weeks of use! Yaasss!
The On Guard Laundry Detergent is made with natural ingredients and essential oils! It’s not only a great non toxic option for your family but it is also environmentally friendly. Other detergents have chemicals that can harm the environment when disposed of, but not doTERRA’s On Guard detergent!
Having clean ingredients in my laundry detergent is important to me because our clothes are in contact with the largest organ of the body almost 24 hours per day! Whatever is on my cloths is sitting on my skin and possibly absorbing into my skin as well. We are exposed to so many toxins every single day, I lower my toxin exposure any where I can!

The On Guard Mouthwash has a spicy flavor that gets the job done! AND this is an alcohol free mouthwash! So it is perfect for people with sensitivities and kids 12 and older! Alcohol in mouthwashes can actually dry out the mouth and prevent saliva from doing it’s job.
Using mouthwash on a consistent basis can also help fight plaque and maintain clean teeth. Plaque accumulates naturally but the Miswak extract (a type of tree bark) in the On Guard Mouthwash specifically helps to reduce excessive plaque buildup!
Xylitol is another natural ingredient in the mouthwash that helps strengthen teeth. I personally despise having dental work done, so anything that can strengthen my teeth is great!
And we can’t forget about the essential oils in this mouthwash: Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary. Each of these oils gently cleanse and soothe the mouth. If I had to choose, I would say Clove essential oil is the most beneficial for oral hygiene because it has antimicrobial, anti fungal, antiseptic and antiviral properties!
