4 Easy Ways to Use Essential Oils

There are so many ways you can use essential oils. I remember when I got my first set of oils and I was not sure how to use them. Well here are 4 easy ways to use your essential oils!

  1. Roller Ball: Mix a carrier oil with your essential oils in a roller ball bottle. I get my roller ball bottles from Aromatools. They are one of my favorite essential oil accessory store. First put the essential oil in the bottle and then the carrier oil on top. I prefer to use fractionated coconut oil but you could use many different oils such as olive oil, almond oil, jojoba oil etc. You can use this to apply diluted essential oils topically. I like to apply essential oils to the bottoms of my feet, wrists, the back of the neck, chest and wherever else the body is needing them.
  2. Spray Bottle: You can make so many different concoctions with essential oils in spray bottles! I make everything from owie spray, body spray, air freshener, dry scalp spray and the list goes on. Typically spray bottle recipes include water and some type of emulsifier (mixing agent). I like to use witch hazel as my emulsifier because it is easy to buy, you can get this at most grocery stores, and because it is all natural. But if you do not have an emulsifier on hand, you can always just use water and essential oils and shake before each use.
  3. Diffuse: If you still do not have a diffuser in your home, it is time! Haha! You can add any essential oils and distilled water to a diffuser and transform your home. Diffuser’s are natural air fresheners, can kill germs in the air, help you sleep at night, lift your mood and more! I like to use distilled water in my diffusers to avoid any gunky build up from hard tap water. You can put any where from 5-15 drops in your diffuser, depending on the size. Each diffuser should come with specific instructions.
  4. Veggie Cap: This is an easy way to take essential oils internally. NOT ALL ESSENTIAL OILS ARE SAFE TO INGEST! Please know that I ONLY recommend taking doTERRA essential oils internally. Not all essential oils are safe to ingest, even in their purest form. If a doTERRA essential oil is safe to ingest it will have a supplemental facts label on the bottle. If the bottle does not have that label, do not take it internally. To make my veggie caps I add a small amount of carrier oil, usually olive oil, and add 1-3 drops of essential oil. I shake it to mix it and these capsules will last about 1 week.

I hope this information was helpful and you start using your essential oils right away!
